Skoda has announced the Octavia RS 230 special edition model for the Geneva Motor Show, which promises to bring a more aggressive design, a sportier interior and a power upgrade. As the photo shows, we’re dealing with a more focused version of the Octavia RS.
The car features distinctive details such as the black-painted spoiler and unique alloy wheels, and it may get a lowered suspension as well. The name of this special edition model betrays a power boost of 10PS over the standard Octavia RS, for a total of 230PS (227hp).
As a result, the Skoda Octavia RS 230 sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.7 seconds, a tenth of a second quicker than the standard model. Top speed also increases slightly from 248 km/h (154 mph) to 250 km/h (155 mph), making it the fastest series-produced Octavia of all time.
The Octavia RS 230 is also the first Skoda to feature an electronically controlled differential front axle lock as standard. The car will arrive in European dealerships in June following its Geneva debut.
