Turns out, if you want to leave basically anything with wheels in your rear view mirror, just put your Tesla Model S P85D into “Insane” mode.
The Porsche 911 Turbo S is one of the fastest accelerating cars in the world, hands down. It’s a beast. It needs just 3.1 seconds to get from 0 to 62 mph and it will keep going to 318 km/h if you’ll let it. The Tesla Model S P85D is a different type of beast, yet still “lethal” when it comes to putting its power down and giving you instantaneous torque.
On paper, the Turbo S actually should get to 62 mph or 100km/h 0.3 seconds before the P85D, and looking at the video it’s unclear if it did or not – the Tesla is actually the one that honks and takes off first. But let’s not take anything away from it, because the way in which it takes off is just epic. It puts 2-3 car lengths between it and the Porsche before the Turbo S reels it back in.
Afterwards, a Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 makes a cameo appearance and takes on the 911 Turbo S with interesting results. It’s always good when these two go head to head because they’re so evenly matched and it’s great to see how the 911 actually shifts a bit faster while the Lambo uses its high-range rpm power advantage.
Also make sure to keep watching until the very end of the video, after the credits. Trust us, you’ll have a good laugh.
