While we’re still looking for official information on the new Hyundai Tucson, we managed to find the first official photos of the Korean SUV.
This set of images gives us an all-around look at the car that replaces both the ix35 in Europe and the Tucson in North America (and elsewhere), as Hyundai returns back to a single nameplate for its compact model.
The exterior of the 2016 Tucson borrows many of the design cues seen in Hyundai’s latest models including the Genesis and Santa Fe, including a more chiseled body and a stronger identity up front with a pronounced six-point chrome grille.
Inside, the pictures suggest that Hyundai has attempted to give the cabin a premium feel through the more mature design, the decor and the equipment features, which on this display model include an infotainment screen on the center console, a digital display between the two dials in the instrument cluster and a pair of sport seats up front.
For the engine range, we’ll have to wait until Hyundai comes out with an official release, but it’s a given that Europe will get diesel and petrol mills that will likely be available with both FWD and AWD.
