American TG presenter Tanner Foust has confirmed his participation in at least four rounds of the 2015 FIA World Rallycross Championship, behind the wheel of a Marklund Motorsport VW Polo RX.
If you’ve seen Top Gear USA, then you’re probably a fan of Tanner’s – even thought the program doesn’t really compare to its UK sibling. On TG US, Tanner (also a two-time Formula Drift champ) is the only one who has the proper skill to test out all sorts of sports cars and supercars since his co-hosts are a comedian and an analyst.
We’re glad to hear he’s having another go at World RX this year as well, after having won in Finland (Kouvola) in 2014. Foust will kickstart his 2015 campaign at Lydden Hill for the British RX round – where he’s previously won twice before in 2012 and 2013.
“I’m looking forward to being able to return to the FIA World Rallycross Championship for a select season of events this year,” said Foust. “The tracks in the series are incredible and I’m especially looking forward to the Lydden Hill event – there is something special about racing at the home of rallycross.”
Foust has confirmed he’ll also attend World RX of Canada (7-8 August), World RX of France (4-6 September) and World RX of Barcelona (19-20 September) – held at the famous Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where we usually get to see Formula 1 magic.
