GTBoard fans already know the story behind this tremendous ass-whooping, as you can clearly imagine this is no regular E30 BMW M3. And the Lambo isn’t one of those 1,000+ HP versions either.
Taking all that into consideration, the result isn’t as surprising anymore, is it? Allegedly the Bimmer has around 650 to 700 HP and a massive weight advantage on the Lambo – which was packing around 800 horses at the wheel.
As you can see, after the initial jolt, the BMW starts pulling away steadily which just goes to show that weight will solve all your problems, and most likely will annoy those who want to use extra horsepower against you.
Had this Twin Turbo Gallardo been a 1,000+ hp specimen, or better yet a 2,000 HP monster like the one from Dallas Performance, the result would have definitely been a different one.
Still, it’s hard to imagine being left in the dust when you’ve got the power that this E30 M3 has and you only tip the scales at about 1,000 kg – not sure how much weight was taken off the car when they did the mods.
Something nobody’s talking about is what this drag race would have looked like had it not been from a rolling start. An interesting thought.
