Our latest daily eBay Motors ritual has led us to this incredible find: a complete Ferrari V12 engine from an FF. For $69,995, dare I buy this dynamite engine capable of 652 horsepower?
First, why is there a modern Ferrari power unit for sale in the first place? Apparently, the engine was removed from a Ferrari FF due to a light tap. Unfortunately, a tapping noise can be anything from a manageable valve or lifter replacement to a distressing complete engine overhaul. It’s no better than a roll of the dice.
Let’s turn off our left brain and stop all rational thought for a second: if you had a fire-breathing Ferrari V12 motor at your disposal, what outrageous engine swap would you like to make a reality?
For me, a Ferrari V12-powered Ford SVT Raptor sounds like the perfect recipe for ear-popping Baja mayhem. Although Hennessey Performance already offers a mighty supercharged 600 horsepower VelociRaptor package for the outgoing SVT Raptor, a Ferrari powerplant in the all-new all-aluminum pickup is the clear choice for a proper maniac. In fact, John Halas loved the idea so much that he even thought of a name for the endeavor: the “FF-150.”
Now it’s your turn: what would you drop a Ferrari V12 motor into? A 240SX drift missile? Perhaps into the hatch of a Smart car? Let us know in the comments below! Check out the Ferrari V12 motor posting on eBay Motors.
