This car is not stock, but the modifications it sports don’t really detract from its essence. It’s a Ford Escort RS Cosworth from 1994 and while stock it made 217 hp, its current owner claims his mods boost that up to 300 hp.
This was purportedly achieved this through the use of a Group A head gasket and matching bolts, a high-flow fuel pump, uprated injectors, as well as a custom intake all of which are topped off with the obligatory remapped ECU. It should also sound a bit raspier than stock as the downpipes and exhaust are custom and made out of titanium.
Inside the car, the only thing that’s not stock is the steering wheel, but I don’t really miss that early airbag unit with the bloated center and awkward shape – it’s been replaced by a tasteful Momo three-spoke.
The car is said to be in great condition and currently on offer by its owner in Petaluma, California for… $47,000 on Craigslist. Yep, it’s quite dear and not stock, but there are hardly any in the US and it should be a great driver’s car whose value will probably keep going up.
