The all-new Audi R8 is obviously an evolution (albeit a small one) from a styling point of view and not a revolution. Audi has played it very safe with its flagship sports car, given how similar the car looks to the outgoing model. Only time (and sales) will tell if their approach was the correct one.
As with the first-generation model, the Audi R8 will also get a Spyder version, which will carry on using a soft top. If you’re curious about what the R8 Spyder will look like, these renderings from Photoshop manipulators X-Tomi and Remco Meulendijk offer a pretty clear picture.
Obviously, we shouldn’t expect any surprises, as the production model will look almost identical to the cars in these renderings. As for the engines, the R8 Spyder will offer the same units as the coupe, more specifically the 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V10 petrol offered in two power outputs, 540PS and 610PS.
