In a way, BMW‘s awesome 3 Series Gran Turismo is one of the automotive world’s best kept secrets. It’s both spacious and efficient, and is now available in Japan in Luxury Lounge trim, as a limited edition.

If you live in Japan you can get your hands on one of these starting with April 1st, and you better hurry because it’s limited to just 140 units – which will probably sell in about…instantly.

The BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo is a highly underrated car. Some knock it down because of its looks without realizing it’s a double standard. The 3 GT offers crazy levels of rear leg room to the point where if you’re around 6 feet tall on average (1.83cm), you can take a seat in the back and you’ll still have about a full palm’s length from your knee to the back of the driver’s seat.

That’s definitely one way of making sure you stay “big in Japan”.

The 3 Series GT Luxury Lounge edition comes with the professional sat-nav system, heated seats, HUD, a Surround View Camera, Parking Assistant (which you really need because of the not-so-great rear visibility), Hi-Fi audio system and the Driving Assistant package.

You’ll also be able to choose between Alpine White and Imperial Blue Brilliant as exterior colors, as well as the gorgeous Dakota leather upholstery in Veneto Beige, as well as Pearl Gloss Chrome accent strips around the Burr Walnut interior trim.

As for the power unit, you won’t really have a say in the matter because only the 2.0 liter turbo petrol unit (320i) will be made available to customers. But since its 184 HP and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) engine will still get you from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in just 7.9 seconds, it’s not really a compromise.
