Since the all-new 2015 Ford Edge expected to hit US showrooms this month, Mike Quincy from Consumer Reports, took it for a quick spin. He found the that new SUV rides better and is quieter inside than its predecessor. The interior was also found to be a big improvement, with a plusher, more stylish cabin.
The test car was equipped with the standard 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine producing 245hp and 270 lb-ft (366 Nm) of torque, but the reviewer reckons most customers will go for the more familiar naturally-aspirated 3.5-liter V6.
Among the 2015 Edge’s weaknesses, Consumer Reports lists cargo volume, which is affected by the steeply raked rear window, and the MyFord Touch infotainment system with its well-known shortcomings. However, Sync 3 will be available later this year.
