Known as the “King of the Shakers”, the Challenger 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker will take center stage at the NY Auto Show, where Dodge definitely hopes to stir up some strong emotions among muscle car enthusiasts.

Whether or not you love the Challenger and all the different models and versions that come with it, or whether this particular Shaker model is nothing more to you than something you’re just going to “shake off” – as the great 21st century philosopher Taylor Swift would say, you still need to hand it to Dodge for keeping muscle car fans on their feet with this car.

It’s been 7 years since they launched the third generation Challenger and it’s still going strong. In fact, it’s stronger than ever (since all they had to do is feed it more power until it literally had its headlights pop out of its grille).

The Challenger 392 Scat Pack Shaker is also here to celebrate 45 years of the functional “cold-air grabbing” hood scoop, which of course “shakes” thanks to the HEMI V8 engine’s movement.

That sort of stuff is something you live for if you love your muscle cars to the point where it’s getting weird. And by weird we mean wallpapers, screen savers, ring tones, memorabilia and so on.

Even though FCA is also bringing the two Hellcats to NY (Challenger and Charger), as well as the 2015 Viper, they’ll have to settle for playing second fiddle to the Scat Pack Shaker.

The 392 is still good for 485 HP and an impressive 470 lb-ft of peak torque. And even though it’s no ‘Hellcat’, it still is a real beast.
