The production version of the Infiniti QX30 Concept will be a really competitive model in the premium compact European crossover segment. It’s got the all important image thing spot on – it looks exclusive and luxurious and thus gives its owner an apparent status boost.
This is more or less what it’s is being pitched as, a car for “individualistic premium customers.”
On top of what it looks like and what it makes other people think, the name Infiniti is much more resonant today, even in Europe, than it was, say, in the late 90s, when the company was under a decade old.
The QX30 is a vehicle that really seems specifically designed for the European market, unlike their previous attempts like putting a Renault diesel engine in a sedan made for Americans…
We’re looking forward to learning more about this car as it nears its production debut; it will be preceded by the regular Q30 hatchback, although in these crossover-crazed times, it’s probably the QX model that will make the bigger splash.
