Chevrolet will make the compact fully-electric vehicle that it recently previewed in concept form, the Bolt (pictured). It’s even apparently keeping the concept’s name, despite the fact that it could cause some confusion among buyers who may find it’s too similar to “Volt.”
Now, we learn that Ford is not going to just sit back and let GM steal the show and it’s actually already developing a rival to the Bolt.
According to Automobile Magazine, the Bolt rival will be revealed in the course of this year and will feature a 200-mile (320 km) range. This is actually good news, as competition and companies trying to outdo one another always results in better end products (cars).
The source report suggest we could see it in concept form as early as the New York auto show in April; that’s where the production Chevy Bolt is expected to debut.
The Ford equivalent is pegged to be shown later in the year, at the Los Angeles motor show in November. It’s worth noting, though, that Ford reportedly said the information is not accurate, although we don’t know if they’re referring to the time frame or the creation of the actual model.
