Jeep hasn’t had a pickup truck in its lineup ever since the Comanche was discontinued in 1992. Talk about Jeep’s plans of bringing a new pickup truck into production hasn’t ceased since, but nothing has happened so far.
However, Jeep CEO Mike Manley recently said he remains a big fan of a Jeep pickup, but that bringing one to market isn’t as simple as it sounds. According to a recent report, we won’t see a new Jeep pickup truck earlier than 2018, when the next-generation Wrangler is scheduled to arrive. That’s because the pickup truck would be based on the next Wrangler.
Well, at least we have Photoshop manipulators like Theophilus Chin to fill that void. Using what appears to be the VW Amarok as a basis, he applied Jeep’s traditional grille and the headlights from the new Grand Cherokee in order to give us an idea of what a modern day Jeep pickup truck would look like. What do you think?
