According to an official press statement, Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended from the BBC and Top Gear will not be broadcast Sunday as planned.

The Independent reported Clarkson was suspended following an argument with a producer.

The BBC released this short statement without elaborating further:

“Following a fracas with a BBC producer, Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation. No one else has been suspended. Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday. The BBC will be making no further comment at this time.”

According to The Independent, Clarkson was on a “final warning” from the BBC following some of his latest controversies, including racist remarks such as ones that were made during the filming of the Burma special and using another during a Top Gear rehearsal.

Top Gear was already under scrutiny heading into the current series, which began in January, because of the incident in Argentina during the filming of their Christmas special. Out of the 10 planned episodes for the 22nd series, seven have aired.
