No sooner than 48 hours after the world premiere of the Aventador LP 750-4SV in Geneva, and our spies have nabbed a Roadster edition of the Super Veloce testing out in the open!
Most of the tell-tale signs of its Super Veloce DNA are there, from the spoiler up front to the revised rear with the huge diffuser and four round tail pipes. The only things missing from the open-top tester appear to be the coupe’s massive fixed rear wing and the 20-inch spider-style alloy wheels.
We expect everything else to be the same, including the weight loss program with the extensive use of carbon fibre for the door panels, rocker covers, engine bay cover and seat backs, plus the elimination of certain comfort features in the stripped out interior. These measures should reduce the Roadster’s mass by around 50kg or 110 pounds.
At the heart of this Italian monster that gets a two-piece carbon fibre roof will beat Lamborghini’s re-tuned naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine packing 750PS (740hp) at 8,400rpm and 690Nm (508lb ft) of torque at 5.500rpm. A seven-speed automated manual gearbox will work with a permanent four-wheel-drive system to help the Aventador LP 750-4SV Roadster crack the 0-100km/h (62mph) in around 2.8 to 2.9 seconds.
We should see the open top SV, if not by the end of this year, then during the first half of 2016.
