What we believe to be the first official images of the new McLaren 570S have surfaced on the web.
Shared on the online edition of French daily Le Figaro, the images match everything we’ve seen up until now of the first McLaren Sports Series model that has the Audi R8 and Porsche 911 Turbo models firmly in its sight.
The 570S coupe will take its place as the entry-level McLaren sports model and is expected to be joined by a convertible Spider and possibly even a roomier GT edition and a more hardcore “Long Tail” high-performance variation.
Its name refers to the power output of McLaren’s de-tuned twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 that churns out 570PS or 562hp, with the car expected to share the same carbon fiber monocoque as the 650S.
The exterior styling adds more curves to McLaren’s familiar design DNA, especially at the back. We’ll have to wait for higher-quality pictures to make an assessment of the interior.
The new McLaren 570S will have its world premiere at this week’s 2015 New York Auto Show.
H/T to Bernardo!
