We feel bad for the Lamborghini Huracan. And not just because somebody thought it would be a good idea to pin it against an 887 HP hybrid hypercar.
Yes, there’s the massive difference in power, where the Huracan only has 610 HP lending a helping hand. And its all-wheel drive advantage is nullified by the Porsche for obvious reasons.
But that’s not why we feel bad for it. There was never any doubt as to who would win a drag race between these two cars, was there? We thought not. However, looking back, we’ve noticed quite a disturbing pattern when it comes to the Huracan.
This year alone, we’ve seen it lose to a souped up Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, a McLaren 650S, an Aventador (duh) and even coming close to getting beat by an MP4-12C.
Still, this one right here takes the cake. The 918 got off to a horrible start off the line as the Lambo probably put about two car lengths between itself and the Porsche for the first couple of seconds.
And don’t be fooled by the camera zooming in heavily at one point as the 918 pulls away, because it makes it seem like the Huracan isn’t losing by that much, when it fact it couldn’t be more painful to watch for Lamborghini fans.
Another excellent example of how a supercar doesn’t look so “super” when it’s racing a hypercar.
