Last month was very generous to Mercedes-Benz, as they managed to sell 14.6% more vehicles than they did in February 2014.

The total number of vehicles sold in the month of February was 120,270, with 50,550 of those ending up with European owners.

As of right now, Germany remains the largest European market for Mercedes-Benz, which doesn’t come as a surprise. In fact they also managed to outsell BMW and Audi last month in their home market.

“Mercedes-Benz posted another sales record in February. The success is due in particular to the C-Class, our SUVs and our compact cars. We have never before sold so many C-Class Sedans and Estates as well as SUVs and compact cars in the first two months of the year”, said Ola Kallenius, Marketing & Sales exec.

The C-Class is still a relatively new model and so its rise isn’t out of the ordinary. What’s still maybe a little surprising is how well their SUVs are doing since we’re basically talking about models that are set to be replaced very soon by a new generation of vehicles.

Their compact A-Class and CLA-Class models have also been successful on a global scale and we see no reason why that will change any time soon.

In the NAFTA region, Mercedes-Benz posted a record of 26,747 vehicles sold in February (USA, Canada, Mexico) which is a 6.3% rise when compared to the same month last year.

Customer deliveries for the C-Class have never been so high in the first two months of the year, with a total of 63,878 customers taking delivery of their Sedan or Estate version.

The E-Class was also on the rise in China by 16% compared to last year, while the S-Class remained the best-selling luxury sedan in the world with another sales record of 15,024 units since the beginning of the year – a 4.2% increase.

The ever-popular Mercedes-Benz SUVs saw a 31.1% bump, with the G-Class posting a growth of 17.6%, making this a new sales record for the month of February.
