At the Geneva Motor Show, Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke department is showcasing a one-off model based on the Phantom Series II called Serenity.
It may not look like it from the outside, but Serenity is one of the most customized Phantoms ever built. According to Rolls-Royce, the model “introduces a completely new level of individualized luxury applied to a Rolls-Royce Phantom.”
Inspired from oriental themes as well as from “opulent” Rolls Royce models from the early 20th century, Serenity shows its true colors inside, where the level of personalization is mind-blowing.
The cabin features unspun silk thread from Suzhou, China, which sports hand-paint crimson blossoms. Cherished in Far Eastern culture and beautifully applied to Royal robe design over the centuries, the blossom motif adorns the headliner, door panels and wood trim.
It also gives the name of the car, as the blossom motif is seen as “the perfect representation of tranquillity and serenity.” Besides silk, the cabin features Smoked Cherry wood trim and “Mother of Pearl” paint throughout.
It’s the same color used for the bodywork, with the one-off paint being the most expensive one ever developed in the history of the brand – the polishing alone took 12 hours by hand.
