If you live in either Italy, Belgium or Spain, you probably know who Paulo Corozzan, Tatiana Silva and Roberto Brasero are. And even if you don’t, you definitely do know about the new Toyota Aygo.
But what about an Aygo with a “Forecast-activated Canvas Roof”? That’s right, Toyota have asked these three weather presenters to put their forecasts to the ultimate test (as if they do anything else other than just report the news). It’s not like they’re out there gathering data.
Still, we get the idea and it’s pretty funny, we’ll admit. Each presenter got to drive the Aygo for a whole month (allegedly), in which the canvas had a mind of its own, being programmed to open or stay shut based on what their weather forecast from a day before.
As you’d expect, they were all confident at first, but as it normally is with the weather, sometimes you get it right, other times it will take you by surprise. Which is what eventually happened to each of them.
So yes, this one is pretty “out there” as far as ads go. But mostly in a good way, because it’s a very original idea for promoting the Aygo X-Wave Canvas Roof option, which will cost you £895 in the UK.
The X-Wave roof is featured on Aygo X-Pression models which also come with 15″ alloys, front fog lamps, LED daytime running lights, an X-Touch multimedia system, reversing camera and air con.
