VW has released the first design sketch of the sixth-generation Transporter, which will have its official world premiere on April 15.
The rendering looks exactly as one would expect, considering that the T6 is expected to retain the T5’s underpinnings – just like VW did with the new Caddy.
While VW didn’t say anything about the T6, the model’s design is expected to be inspired by the Tristar and eCO-Motion concept vehicles. It will also get VW’s latest line of diesel and petrol engines, possibly including the brand’s 237hp (240PS) 2.0-liter TDI that debuted on the new Passat.
As spy photos have shown, the new Transporter will also feature a new interior with a redesigned dashboard complete with an integrated screen for VW’s latest infotainment system.
The sixth-generation Transporter will go on sale in Europe later this year.
