We’re keeping our fingers crossed that the rumors are true and Honda will bring the S660 roadster to Europe and maybe the United States as a more powerful S1000 model.
According to a report from Australia’s Carsales, the export version of the Honda S660 would be equipped with a larger 1.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that could produce around 127 horsepower.
The S1000 would also have a slightly wider body and bigger wheels, with one unnamed engineer hinting that the rear axle would be over 2 inches (50.8 mm) wider to accommodate wider tires.
Obviously, there’s no official information regarding the Honda S1000, but nothing can stop fans of mid-engined, rear-wheel drive bargains from dreaming about it. Especially after seeing this rendering from Photoshop expert X-Tomi, who has imagined what the S1000 could look like. Although he called it S1000 Type R, we would be more than happy if Honda decided to give us just a basic S1000. Wouldn’t you?
