The Koenigsegg Regera was the much more interesting car to check out at the Swedish automaker’s Geneva motor show stand. It’s a mind bending collection of numbers and features several unusual technical solutions.
Christian von Koenigsegg really likes to show off the ways in which his company innovates, and we must admit to being completely hooked on it… The man really wants the firm to excel and attract as much attention as possible, and with cars as made as the Regera, they’re managing that brilliantly.
You’ve already heard it has no gearbox whatsoever and that it’s the first car ever to run a direct drive from the engine to the wheels. This is augmented by three electric motors that bring the total power output up to 1,500 hp…
But there’s so much more to it than that, like the reason for choosing the fishtail-style exhausts (no, the big center one is not for the engine, but for cooling the electrics) which are integrated into the rear diffuser arrangement, or the fact that it has soft-closing doors for the first time on a car such as this.
But we’ll let Christian von Koenigsegg guide you through the Regera and also the new Agera RS as well in the two videos posted below courtesy of GT Board.
