After assessing 42 vehicle interiors that are either all-new or significantly revamped for the US market over a period of two months, WardsAuto editors released their top 10 picks for 2015.
That said, these are not the absolute best interiors in the market overall, but the highest rated new entries.
According to the publication, “each vehicle is scored based on materials, ergonomics, safety, comfort, value and fit-and-finish” with 20 out of 100 points given to “aesthestics and design harmony”.
Whereas last year’s choices ranged from $24k for Kia’s Soul all the way up to a stratospheric $372k for the Rolls-Royce Wraith, this year’s selection tops out at $65k for the Mercedes-Benz C400.
“It’s important that great interiors be available in every class of vehicle, not just luxury models that most consumers will never be able to afford,” said WardsAuto World Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter.
“In this year’s competition, we saw a lot of evidence that automakers are thinking creatively about interiors and putting a lot of design horsepower into not just luxury vehicles, but pickups, minivans and family sedans. And they are investing more in high-quality trim materials, electronic features and other details that will surprise and delight shoppers,” Winter added.
