The 2015 New York Auto Show has been a “rebadge fest” for Toyota subsidiary Scion, which has brought not one, but two badge-engineered vehicles.

While the Scion iA began life as a Mazda2 sedan, the Scion iM is actually a Toyota Auris imported from Europe – apparently a pre-facelift Auris. The production version of the compact hatchback has dropped the flashy body parts of the iM Concept and now only minor details differentiate it from the Toyota Auris.

These include the revised bumpers, aprons, the infotainment system, air-condition controls and the automatic gearbox lever. Unlike the Auris, the engine lineup for 2016 Scion iM will be limited to a standard 1.8-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 137hp.

The engine can be had either with a standard six-speed manual or an optional Continuously Variable Transmission with a Sport mode. Estimated highway mileage is 37 mpg (6.3 l/100 km).

The 2016 Scion iM will arrive in US dealerships this fall priced from under $20,000.
