Caterham’s sales figure has been constantly rising and the UK-based sports car maker has just announced the best ever year in its 42-year history (2014). This was brought about by an increase of 6 percent in exports, which actually accounted for “well over” 50% of the annual figure.
Oddly, the official press release doesn’t actually state the actual sales figure, only the one for exports – 345 vehicles sold outside the UK. Given the data we do have, we estimate the number to be around 600-ish cars in total.
Graham Macdonald, the CEO of Caterham Cars, adds more by saying that “our recent foray into the world of Formula 1 has introduced Caterham to a raft of new global audiences who had never heard of us before. Now, thanks to that international exposure, the Seven is on sale in markets as far flung as China, Taiwan, Malaysia and Colombia.”
