Citroen released a short video and some photos showing the build-up of the Citroen Aircross, the SUV concept that was revealed at the Shanghai Auto Show this week.
Unlike other concepts that are just hollow shells, the funky Aircross looks fully functional, with a regular engine under the bonnet and everything, which is always good news for a concept’s chances to reach production.
Citroen has already said that the Aircross uses a hybrid powertrain which consists of a turbocharged 218hp 1.6-litre engine driving the front axle and an electric 95hp motor driving the back.
Following the steps of the now successful C4 Cactus, the Aircross attempts to transfer the same theme into the SUV segment and the outcome looks pretty good to those eyes.
There is no official info on whether there is a possibility of the Aircross reaching production at this point but the fact that it’s based on the EMP2 PSA platform shows that Citroen wants to throw it in production.
What do you think? Should they?
