Dacia reported strong growth figures last year in the UK, and the trend has now been confirmed to continue into 2015. The manufacturer reports an increase of 10.3 percent in its Q1 sales over 2014, shifting a total of 7,524 vehicles.
It adds to Renault’s even more significant increase for the same period, as the French group reports a 17.8 percent rise, for a total of 33,564 cars sold.
UK companies don’t seem all that interested in purchasing Dacias, and it’s reported that of all vehicles sold, 94.8 percent ended up in private not fleet hands.
Dacia’s performance has also been noted by Renault’s top brass, through its UK Managing Director, Ken Ramirez, who said he’s “delighted that Dacia’s ‘shockingly affordable’ value for money and no-nonsense approach has found so many customers this year making us the first choice ‘smart buy’ car brand.”
