Ferrari seems really keen to preserve its heritage by offering cars with naturally aspirated engines in the future, as well. However, these units won’t remain without boost, it’s just that they’ll all be turned into hybrids and use electricity instead.

The LaFerrari (it still sounds odd saying it) was a poster vehicle for technology that will most likely make its way into all future V12 Ferraris; the power output will be curbed slightly, but the hardware will be pretty much the same.

That’s what Autocar says, anyway, and to us it sounds very plausible. It quotes an unnamed source from inside the company that reportedly said: “There will be no turbos on our V12s. Expect instead to see 48-volt systems on the next generation.”

We can’t say we feel any way about that, as, well, we don’t necessarily agree with some of the practices the company uses to keep itself exclusive. Besides, if they were to turbocharge their V12, you’d bet your soul it’d be the best sounding unit of its kind ever made, so who cares?
