Do you really need to have 23-inch wheels on Volvo’s new-gen XC90, or any other car for that matter?
Well, it’s not a question of necessity, but one of personal choice and preferences in the looks department.
Volvo already offers a quartet (at least in the USA) of alloy wheels ranging in size from 19- to 21-inches, but their official tuning and racing arm Heico Sportiv is kicking it up a notch with the release of a new 23-inch forged alloy wheel named “Volution X. Forged”.
“As a specialist supplier closely enrooted with the Volvo brand, we can quickly implement products that the market is demanding but which are not offered by the manufacturer itself. We’re therefore particularly proud to be the first company to address customers’ demands for the Volvo XC90,” says HEICO SPORTIV Managing Director, Holger Hedtke.
Set to go on sale in July, the 11×23″ rim is said to offer weight saving of around 15% compared to the conventional cast wheel. In Germany, it costs €1,783 (US$1,991), with the complete wheel wrapped in 315/25 R23 ContiSportContact 5P tires priced at €8,890 (equal to US$9,930).
