The Lincoln Continental study may look like its designers were aware of the existence of Bentley while they were penning it, but it’s by no means a copy. The concept debuted at the New York auto show and it was generally very well received by the public and media.
Yes, everybody made comments about the Bentley similarities, but nobody really bashed the car as badly as Bentley’s own designers did – the latter is a brash overreaction, I think.
According to reports from those present at the NY venue, it was one of the most popular cars to be displayed this year. And it’s obvious why: it was on home turf, it was a new Lincoln that was overtly premium and it ditched the three-letter naming strategy currently used by production models.
