The Chevy-badged brother of the Opel Karl and Vauxhall Viva, the Spark, has just been given a sporty digital makeover by X-Tomi. It doesn’t look bad as a hot hatch, helped by its already fairly aggressive fascia and strong side lines and creases.
The standard car’s design, while kind of bland, is not bad and it takes the sporty makeover well. It sits lower and on bigger rims and gets a new hood with an intake reminiscent of the latest high performance Cadillac models or the Corvette Z06.
This car is not going to happen, but if it were, GM would definitely have some cool engine options to choose from for it. Their 1.4-liter turbo that’s so prolific throughout the world in regular family cars could give the Spark a much peppier character.
However, this class of smallest city cars doesn’t really get hot hatch variants at all. That is, until Renault launches the sportier version of its Twingo, although we honestly don’t have very high expectations of that car having seen the base model…
