Can you see the resemblance? Both the Lannia and the Maxima (the all-new model obviously) have very similar design lines from the front wings all the way to the C-Pillar.
Then there’s the front grille which is almost the same as the one on the 2016 Maxima, the black A-Pillars – another Maxima feature, and of course the taillights which split up in two directions on the sides, just like on Nissan’s new sedan.
Inside, the steering wheel is also from the …you guessed it, and that’s pretty much where the similarities end. Overall, it’s not a bad looking car at all and should indeed appeal to young buyers, as Nissan already stated.
Actually, what they said was that, the Lannia was developed and designed for young Chinese generations, people in their 20s and 30s, and we think that it will. It certainly looks unconventional enough…or should we say fashionable. Nowadays, they’re pretty much the same thing, whether we like it or not.
Although we don’t have any details on the powertrains, we can expect the Lannia to be powered by various small capacity 4-cylinder petrol units.
Another thing we like is the name. Well, the significance of the name actually. In Chinese, ‘Lanniao’ means Bluebird, which fits the car they brought to Shanghai really well.
