Hollywood actor Robert De Niro announced in an interview with Italian newspaper Il Messaggero that his next role will be Enzo Ferrari in a movie titled “Ferrari”.
The film is expected to be released in theaters sometime in 2016 and will cover the life of the company’s founder from the ‘40s to the ‘80s, with Clint Eastwood reportedly interested in directing the film.
“For me it is an honor and a joy to tell the life of an extraordinary man who revolutionized the automotive world and across historical periods and different social, from fascism to democracy, from war to economic well-being,” Robert De Niro said.
The film will be produced in Italy by Gianni Bozzacchi, owner of Triworld Cinema, in collaboration with De Niro’s Tribeca Enterprises.
“It will have a high budget and will cover a wide span – from 1945 to the eighties in a twisted game of eras and episodes”, said Bozzacchi, who wants to portrait the character of Enzo Ferrari in his ups and downs. “There will be a hagiographic account: describe the character with light and shadows, successes and sorrows as the death of the beloved son Dino, who died in 1956 at just 24 years due to a serious illness”.
We simply cannot wait for this one.
