We’re no strangers to outrageous asking prices for BMW E30 M3s, but this one even caught us by surprise as the seller wants $224,500 – and it’s not even a stock model!
Sure, combining the light and compact-sized body of the beloved E30 M3 with one of BMW‘s craziest production engines, the E60 M5’s 5.0-liter V10 stroked and tuned by Dinan to 5.7-liters and hooked up to a 6sp manual sounds tempting for a ride on the drag strip or the race track, but we’re talking here the equivalent cost of 3 to 4 original E30 M3 EVO IIs…
The vehicle’s history reports says the 1988 M3 had nine owners in its life and no apparent accidents, or at least none on record. Nicknamed “Frankenstein” the car was built by Mitch Piper of Piper Motorsports and it now has 30,000 miles on the naturally-aspirated V10 mill.
We wonder how many of you would entertain the idea of paying brand-new Lamborghini Huracan money ($237,500) for a monster tune like this.
