It’s not uncommon for a car manufacturer to team up with a fashion designer in order to create haute couture rolling marvels.

Maserati has done it with Ermenegildo Zegna, Fiat has done it with Gucci, Lamborghini has done it with Versace and these are just a few examples. It seems like fashion and automotive design go together like milk and honey. Even Cadillac has Bulgari’s name engraved on some of its cars.

The latest luxury giants to form an alliance are none other than Aston Martin and Valentino. The two groups created a project – in the form of a V12 Vanquish Volante – for a charity event organized by Cash & Rocket. Cash & rocket is a platform for high-end global brands which are aiming to raise money for charities around the world.

The Vanquish has developed by Aston Martin’s bespoke Q department alongside Valentino’s design directors: Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli. The car utilizes Valentino’s signature camouflage look and carries metal-like dashes on the front wings and the rims. It kind of looks ready to compete in Gumball 3000, even though the car will be auctioned during the Cash & Rocket opening Gala Dinner on 14 May in London.

We can see that Aston Martin never misses a chance to take on new and diverse challenges when it comes to design and we can only applaud this initiative.
