If you’ve ever drive or been around an Audi Q3, then you probably know that it’s not the prettiest nor the fastest small SUV in the world. Plus, it’s not what you’d call manly, is it?
Here’s where ABT Sportsline comes in. They wave their magic wand around a couple of times and out comes this dynamic-looking facelifted Q3 that we actually kind of like.
And it’s not just all show and no go. ABT went and gave the 2.0 TDI engine more power and torque, which should translate into a rather snappy ride, we think.
The stock 2.0 TDI Audi Q3 (the 184 HP version) can get from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.9 seconds, which isn’t bad at all when you stop to think about it. ABT raised the power from 184 HP to 210 HP and the peak torque went from 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) to 420 Nm (309 lb-ft), so it’s conceivable to think that they may have shaved about half a second off that sprint time – though they don’t offer a specific figure.
The 2.0 liter TDI engine was an obvious choice, especially since it’s so popular within the VW Group. It also happens to be very economical, which is always a bonus.
Visually, ABT lowered the ride height by 25 mm in the front and 35 mm at the rear and gave the Q3 a four-tailpipe exhaust system, plus a few new extra bits to strap onto the front spoiler, mirror caps and rear spoiler.
As for the wheels, they range in size from 18″ to 21″ and you can also get high-performance tires if that’s what you want. We really like the wheel design though.
