We’ve seen many photos with BMW’s latest concept car, showcased at the Concorso D’Eleganza over the weekend, but now it’s time to see the thing move and hear it growl.
Words can’t fully describe it and pictures don’t seem to do it justice. The 3.0 CSL is that kind of car that requires to be seen in a dynamic view in order to appreciate its lines, form and ideology. It’s not a beauty, but it is striking to look at.
The reason why the 3.0 CSL concept-car requires such an approach is due to the fact that its pedigree comes from the racing variant of the original 3.0 CSL, which has always been a definition of Bavarian motion. A car created to race, to move, not to be showcased in a vitrine.
Although BMW presented it next to a series production 3.0 CSL Batmobile, the concept actually draws its heritage from the racing version of the iconic BMW model. The wide-body look and the racing stance of the original car is beautifully translated and reinterpreted on the CSL Hommage.
Just check out how the sound resonate from its side-pipes, precisely as the original racing-bred Bimmer. We promise you, this 2 minutes-long video completely changes the appeal of the car. What started as a modern caricatured 3.0 CSL, is quickly transformed in a futuristic concept sculptured by motion.
