We have to admit that when it comes to movies, oftentimes the product placement isn’t exactly what you would call “on point”. There are however a few exceptions.
Take just about any action movie or thriller for example. Actually, the genre of the movie doesn’t matter all that much, so since it’s still fresh in our minds, let’s take Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Audi placed a heck of a lot of products throughout the movie, yet you’d be hard pressed to say that Audi could have been the only car manufacturer deserving of such a role.
The honor could have gone to just about any other premium car manufacturer. It wouldn’t have mattered which one. However, what does matter is if the type of vehicle you’re promoting has a genuine connection to the plot/vibe of the movie.
This is where Chevrolet made a smart move with the 2016 Volt, because they chose to place it in a futuristic environment, which is exactly the type of message GM wants its customers to receive when it comes to the new Volt.
Based on the trailer, the movie looks fun – in a “let’s escape reality for 2 hours type of way”. And even if it’s a Disney movie, there are plenty of parents that are going to see it with their kids, parents thinking of buying a new car, parents that might just be tempted to start helping the environment.
Makes sense, doesn’t it?
