Seat has officially lifted the veils off the facelifted Ibiza at the Barcelona Motor Show. The B-segment model has received a minor visual upgrade, an improved engine lineup and new technologies.

In terms of exterior design, the five-door Ibiza, three-door Ibiza SC Sport Coupé and the Ibiza ST Sport Tourer estate get new new headlamps with LED daytime running lights, new wheel designs in 16 and 17 inches and two new paint colors – Moonstone Grey and Chilli Red.

The facelifted Ibiza is offered with new Colour Packs which offer a new level of individualization. Each Colour Pack comes with a wide range of trim elements in the respective color. On the outside, the rim of the radiator grille and the exterior mirror housings are offered in Velvet, Atom Grey or one of the other colors, while inside, the air vent bezels and the detailing on the steering wheel and gear lever feature the respective color as well. Colored stripes set into the seat backrests and two-color alloy wheels in 16 or 17 inches complete the Colour Pack.

Seat says the Ibiza features a completely new generation of three- and four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The entry-level petrol engine is a 1.0-liter three-cylinder with 75PS (74hp) in naturally aspirated format and 95PS (94hp) or 110PS (109hp) as TSI turbocharged drives.

There’s also a four-cylinder 1.4 TSI ACT with active cylinder management with an improved output of 150PS (148hp) and torque of 250Nm (184lb-ft), which returs a combined 4.8 l/100 km (58.8 mpg UK or 48 mpg US). Even more economical is the 1.0 TSI Ecomotive with 95PS, which averages 4.1 l/100 km (68.9 mpg UK or 57.3 mpg US), corresponding to a CO2 figure of 94 g/km.

As for diesel units, the most economical is the 1.4 TDI with 75PS (74hp) which averages 3,4 l/100 km (83 mpg UK or 69.1 mpg US), with CO2 emissions of 88 g/km. Other engines on offer are a 1.6 TDI offered in two states of tune: 90 PS (89hp) and 105PS (104hp).

All engines are offered with manual transmissions and comply with the latest EU6 emissions standards. The 110PS TSI and 90PS TDI are also offered with DSG transmissions. The start/stop system is available for all Ibiza models.

In terms of new technologies, the facelifted Ibiza lineup gets the second generation Easy Connect infotainment system with touchscreen operation and integrated Navi System which can receive DAB digital radio and play music from an iPod or smartphone via a USB port or Bluetooth profile. The new MediaSystem plus and satellite navigation system can be enhanced with the MirrorLink function, which enables smartphone integration into the car infotainment system.
