As a kid growing in the 90’s, I remember having phosphorescent things made you king of the playground.

Glow in the dark toys, watches – even shoes – were the ultimate trend. At one point, the prize in a pack of gum were these glow in the dark vampire teeth that kids wanted more than their next breath of air.

You know, growing old is unavoidable, but growing-up is a choice. That’s why even if you’re 7, or 77, you always try to bring the coolest toys to the playground. I wish I could say thing are different now, but this blue Aston Martin says otherwise.

This is the car Team46 is competing with in the Gumball 3000 rally. With its unique UV coating, which allows the car to glow in the dark, the car will surely stand out as the moon rises during the motoring-event. The cool thing about it is that, it works like any other phosphorescent thing ever created – during the day, it charges from the sunlight and at night time, glows like a fire-fly. Furthermore, the special material emits the ghostly-glow up to 10 hours after being exposed to the sun.

According to David Morgan – owner and driver of the Aston Martin DBS: “Personally, I wanted a car that would stand out among the collection of supercars and what better way to do it than make it glow? Hamish Scott rose to the challenge and the car will definitely turn heads around the globe. It is positively mind-blowing and feels like touching glass, smoother than regular car paint, whilst aesthetically something futuristic and completely out of this world – it is spectacular, day or night.”

Well, Mr. Morgan, the cops will definitely see you coming, day or night. And that 6.0-litre V12 under the hood won’t make life any easier…
