Leave it to Holden to get the party started! Even though May 4th proved to be uneventful, the Aussies put their creativity to work and “put” Darth Vader behind the wheel of a Cascada.
For those who didn’t know, May 4 is considered somewhat of a holiday by Star Wars fans. And you have to admit, saying “May the Fourth be with you” does sound pretty cool – since it’s basically just like saying “May the Force be with you”.
Holden used social media to get into the spirit of things, and figured out a way to get Vader into a few of their models. They chose the Holden Cascada for starters, which GM recently shipped out to Australia along with its Astra GTC and VXR siblings.
Since it’s no…Death Star, the Cascada’s 1.6 liter turbocharged petrol engine will provide adequate power only for casual drivers. It packs 170 HP and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft) of torque and it can get from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.6 seconds, or 9.9 seconds if you go for the automatic.
You’re not keeping up with any Commodores that way, are you?
All in all, the images were fun to look at. We did notice that Darth Vader also enjoys driving the Astra and the Colorado with his Lightsaber on.
Now we know why they needed to put him in a convertible.
