The Jaguar XE is receiving rave reviews in the UK and it along with the Cadillac ATS which is winning praise in the US are the two compact executive sedans everybody is talking about right now.

The Jaguar is a long awaited model, like the Cadillac, and naturally, everybody wants to compare it to what is perceived to be the class leader, the BMW 3-Series. It’s clear that it was the BMW and not any other rival that inspired the XE, since it’s a more sporty-oriented affair than, say, equivalent models from Audi, Mercedes or Infiniti.

XCar asks the same questions, regarding the baby Jag exec saloon, and their conclusion is as predictable as the prospect of rain in London – they love it and definitely feel like it’s a strong contender in the class; totally unexpected conclusion there, but at least the reviewer admits there may be some “national bias” in it as well…

We’ll have to wait a few months for sales figures to start coming in, then we’ll see just how appealing it is and threatening for the established models, as well.
