The most powerful Jaguar F-Type you can currently buy is the limited series open-top-only Project 7, yet it apparently won’t stay that way for long. It’s been suggested that an even more powerful SVR model is in the works and should be revealed “soon.”

The model is said to have over 600 hp and all the extra goodies the Project 7 (pictured) cars had (carbon ceramic brakes, carbon aero kit and the all-important active differential), but also gain the option of all-wheel drive; this actually sounds like the perfect kind of model to only offer with all-wheel drive, but we really have no information on that at the moment.

As for body styles, we don’t know that either, but assuming maximum stiffness is desirable, the coupe would be the obvious candidate to base this most extreme F-Type on.

Finally, MotorTrend suggests it could be previewed by a Project 8 concept, a follow-up to the original one.
