While we wait for the return of the Mad Max franchise on the big screen, let’s take a moment and remember how totally ridiculous the last one was.
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome or Mad Max 3 if you prefer, represents for many people -me included- the lowest point in the franchise’s history. The whole concept of these children was clearly a copy from Peter Pan and its Lost Boys. For a post-apocalyptic story that made its fame on brutal car-chases this could not be a bigger deal-breaker. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that it was the first PG13 film of the series but then, copying from Peter Pan? Come on.
And that’s before we even mention the fact that the car-chases the franchise is so famous for were engaged in the final 15 minutes of the movie. Yeah, this movie sucked big time and we are glad that CinemaSins is giving it the treatment it deserves.
So let’s hope George Miller will do us a favor this time and give us what we really want, meaning some crazy, rusty vehicular mayhem with a badass in the middle of it.
Enjoy the video.
