The new VW Passat BlueMotion can be ordered in Germany with prices starting from €29,425 ($32,820) for the sedan and €30,500 ($34,020) for the estate.
The Passat BlueMotion is the most fuel efficient model in the series, with a combined consumption of 3.7 l/100 km (76.3 mpg UK or 63.5 mpg US) and CO2 emissions of 95 g/km (figures corresponding to both body styles).
The model is powered by a 1.6-liter TDI diesel engine producing 120PS (118hp) from 3,600 rpm to 4,000 rpm and 250Nm (184lb-ft) of torque between 1,750 rpm and 3,500 rpm.
The model is offered exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission. The sedan covers the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 10.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph), while the estate reaches 100 km/h from standstill in 11 seconds and maxes out at 208 km/h (129 mph).
The VW Passat BlueMotion benefits from efficient drive technology, technical modifications and aerodynamic measures. Standard equipment includes 16-inch “Copenhagen” alloy wheels, an aerodynamically optimized radiator grille and radiator shutter.
The Passat BlueMotion can be recognized thanks to the “BlueMotion” badges on the radiator grille, on the fenders and boot lid.
