The new Vauxhall  Corsa VXR or Opel Corsa OPC is currently the fastest supermini-based hot hatch that you can buy, but even so, it actually doesn’t feel that way, according to this AutoExpress review.

The UK motoring mag may have also forgotten about the 220 hp Renault Clio RS Trophy; the Clio already did the benchmark sprint to 100 km/h in around 6.5 seconds, so with more power it probably beats this Corsa.

The example tested in the video below came with the performance pack, which adds stiffer springs and Brembo brakes for extra-edgy driving capabilities. They work great on track, naturally, but the extra granite in the suspension doesn’t do ride comfort any favors – the reviewer calls the car “fidgety.”

Even so, at least Vauxhall / Opel is trying, just not hard enough to differentiate this car from its competitors, or the outgoing model which looks strikingly similar to this; it’s like they didn’t even try on that front…
