Even though Porsche’s GTS line-up isn’t exactly the best they can do in terms of performance, there’s just something special about these cars and we think we know what it is.
Let’s get right into it and talk about what makes a Porsche GTS (regardless of model) special. Of course, they’re not the fastest, nor are they the best-looking. However, they do manage to bump the middle versions out of the way (generally the S and 4S versions) and park those rear ends right under the Turbo models.
You also get a distinctive dynamic look with any GTS Porsche that you purchase. It’s clearly more hardcore than any “entry-level” Carrera or Carrera S, which also goes for the Panamera, Cayenne and so on. In fact, you’ll find a GTS version for pretty much any Porsche you can think of except for the Macan (for now) and the 918 Spyder (duh).
Here’s an overview: Boxter GTS, Cayman GTS, Cayenne GTS, Panamera GTS, Carrera GTS, Carrera GTS Cabriolet, Carrera 4 GTS, Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet and Targa 4 GTS.
But let’s talk about the most iconic model, the 911. Apart from the Turbo/Turbo S and the GT3 & GT3 RS, absolutely any version of the Carrera GTS (with the Sport Chrono pack) is on average about half a second quicker to 100 km/h (62 mph) than any other 911 model that you can buy.
The difference isn’t as sizable with the Boxster/Cayman GTS models, but you’ll definitely notice it when it comes to the Cayenne GTS or the Panamera GTS.
GTS basically means more power, more precision and more style to better differentiate yourself from any Carrera S or non-S versions.
It also means that you’re buying a more complete package, a Porsche that’s ever so close to reaching its full potential – which is what it’s all about when you’re paying that much money for these types of cars.
