You may be aware that the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) will race this weekend on the Nürburgring – not just the new Grand Prix circuit, the old and fearsome Nordschleife as well.
It will definitely be a race to watch, both because it’s the Nürburgring and because the WTCC is usually an entertaining series. To give you an idea of what it will be like for a WTCC car to race on the bumpy and unforgiving Nordschleife, Citroën has released a video of Sébastien Loeb’s full lap on the combined Nürburgring Grand Prix track and the Nordschleife.
It’s far from a usual lap for WTCC drivers, as it totals 25.378 kilometers (15.7 miles). Not to mention the brutal transition from the Grand Prix track’s wide track with plenty of clearance spaces and the Nordschleife’s narrow stretch of asphalt which offers no room for errors.
But Loeb seems unfazed with the Nordschleife, as he takes the 380hp Citroën C-Elysée to the absolute limit in the video. Enjoy!
